Notification Banner
A notification banner appears at the very top of the Fiko interface when something requires your attention — such as a lost connection, customers waiting for a response, AI messages pending review, or unattended chats in another company you manage. The banner is temporary: it disappears once the underlying condition clears or you dismiss it.
Banner types
Real-time connection lost
Message shown: “Real-time connection lost. Messages may not deliver.”
This banner appears when the WebSocket connection between your browser and Fiko is interrupted. While disconnected, new incoming messages and real-time events may not appear without a page refresh.
- • Click Reconnect to attempt to re-establish the connection immediately.
- • If reconnection succeeds, the banner clears automatically.
- • This banner cannot be manually dismissed — it is pinned until the connection is restored.
This banner appears for all authenticated users.
Customers waiting for a response
Message shown: “N customer(s) waiting for a response”
This banner appears when the CS response timer detects customers in your channels who have been waiting and have not received a reply within the configured threshold. The severity changes from warning (yellow) to error (red) when one or more timers reach the escalated state.
- • Click Go to chat to navigate directly to the most urgent waiting conversation.
- • The banner clears when all visible timers are resolved.
- • You can dismiss the banner manually; it will reappear if a new timer becomes active.
AI messages pending review
Message shown: “N AI message(s) pending review”
This banner appears when the AI agent has generated replies that require a human to approve before they are sent to the customer. The count shows the number of messages in the moderation queue.
- • Click Review to navigate to the first chat awaiting moderation.
- • The banner clears when the moderation queue is empty.
- • You can dismiss the banner manually; it will reappear if new messages enter the queue.
Unattended customers in another company
Message shown (one company): “N unattended customer(s) in your other company”
Message shown (multiple companies): “N unattended customer(s) across M other companies”
This banner appears only if you have access to more than one company. When customers are waiting for a response in a company you are not currently viewing, this banner alerts you so you can switch. The severity reflects the urgency of the waiting chats: info (normal wait), warning (near threshold), or error (escalated).
- • Click Switch to switch to the company with the most urgent unattended chat and navigate to that conversation.
- • The banner clears when no unattended timers remain in your other companies.
- • You can dismiss the banner manually; it will reappear if a new timer triggers.
This banner is only visible to users who are members of more than one company.
When multiple banners are active
If more than one condition is active at the same time, only the first (highest-priority) banner is shown by default. A +N more button appears at the right side of the visible banner showing the number of additional alerts.
To expand: Click the +N more button to reveal all active banners stacked vertically.
To collapse: Click Collapse to return to the single-banner view. The banner collapses automatically when only one notification remains active.
Priority order: The connection-lost banner is always shown first (pinned). Other banners follow in the order they became active.
Dismissing a banner
Most banners have a Dismiss button (×) on the right side. Clicking it hides that specific banner from view.
Dismissal is not permanent. If the underlying condition is still true when you reload the page, or if the condition clears and then becomes active again in the same session, the banner will reappear.
Connection-lost banner cannot be dismissed. It has no dismiss button and clears only when the WebSocket connection is restored.
No saved state. Dismissed banners are tracked in memory only. Reloading the page resets all dismissals. There is no option to permanently suppress a banner type.
Access
The notification banner is visible to all authenticated users — Admin, Member, Agent, and Viewer. There are no role-based restrictions on viewing or dismissing banners. The cross-company banner is only shown to users who belong to more than one company.
